Dr. Santos is  Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the Chief of Acute Care Surgery Service and Co-director of SICU at Covenant Medical Center with specialties in emergency general surgery, trauma, burn and surgical critical care. He has  special interest in rural health and  telemedicine serving as the founding Director of Telemedicine for TTUHSC School of Medicine, Telehealth advisor for American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Advisor to the TTUHSC Telehealth and Virtual Care Student Interest Group. He is active at EAST, ACS, AAST and SCCM.
