Hawaii to receive federal funding boost for telehealth

Hawaii is sending key resources to its rural hospitals and expanding access to telehealth through a federal grant. The state received more than $1.6 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to respond  to the COVID-19 pandemic in underserved communities.

A local telehealth resource center received a portion of the grant to provide technical assistance as the state’s health care providers look to offer virtual alternatives to in-person appointments.
