Health and Education: How Telehealth Breaks Down Silos

The Global Partnership for Telehealth (GPT) is a non-profit organization that offers telehealth technology solutions and web-based platforms to urban and rural communities. GPT works closely with school systems to promote easy access to affordable healthcare in local communities. Presenters from GPT will offer in-depth telehealth information at the K-12 and college levels.

Jennifer Murphy will discuss how colleges and universities are currently implementing telehealth on campus, including in simulation labs, in student health clinics, and with clinical experiences during the pandemic.

Loren Nix will discuss the important role telehealth plays in the educational system. Participants will get a view of the current landscape of their school-based telehealth program in the K – 12 sector, including the most common school-based telehealth models emerging across hundreds of school campuses. She will also discuss telehealth’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic throughout elementary and secondary school health.
