Preparing for Your State’s Rural Health Transformation
10:00 am to 11:00 am PT • Hosted By Great Plains Telehealth Resource & Assistance Center
The $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program represents the largest federal investment in rural healthcare infrastructure in decades — but many organizations are waiting on the sidelines for “official approval” before taking action. In this webinar, Christian Milaster will cut through the complexity of RHTP implementation across the gpTRAC states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin), providing his assessment of how telehealth initiatives are likely to unfold in your state. More importantly, you’ll learn what your organization can do right now to position for success, avoid the costly “CMS clawback” trap that catches unprepared programs, and build telehealth capabilities that meet federal sustainability requirements from day one. This session serves as a preview of the half-day pre-conference workshop “Implementing Telehealth so that CMS (and your state) will love you” at gpTRAC’s Telehealth Everywhere Summit on April 7, where we’ll dive deeper into implementation strategies that work in rural communities. Whether your state has already issued RFPs or is still waiting for the official contract with CMS, you’ll leave with a clear understanding of the telehealth landscape in your region and concrete next steps for your organization. Key Takeaways: – State-specific RHTP intelligence: Understand where your state stands in the RHTP application and implementation process, what telehealth initiatives are prioritized, and realistic timelines for funding availability – Implementation readiness strategies: Learn what rural healthcare organizations can do now—before official state program launches—to build capabilities, engage stakeholders, and position for competitive advantage – CMS clawback prevention: Identify the common implementation mistakes that trigger federal recapture provisions and how to design sustainable telehealth programs that meet CMS requirements from the start

Telehealth Access Points: Building Health Access in Rural Communities
10:00 am to 11:00 am PT • Hosted By Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center
This session explores how telehealth access points can bridge critical healthcare gaps in rural communities. Drawing from experiences with the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and Oklahoma Broadband Office, as well as work with Oklahoma Complete Health, the presentation outlines the key access barriers—limited providers, poor connectivity, and transportation challenges—and demonstrates how strategically deployed telehealth sites can address them. Attendees will learn about the partnerships, funding considerations, and site‑selection criteria that shaped Oklahoma’s Telehealth Access Point implementation, along with practical design elements such as privacy, ADA compliance, equipment choices, and low‑touch sanitization. Real‑world examples from municipal libraries and regional library systems highlight diverse models and community impacts. The session also covers emerging applications, including school‑based telehealth and hybrid clinic models, and concludes with the legislative and operational challenges that influence sustainability, from shifting reimbursement rules to staffing limitations in rural schools and libraries.
