On April 22, the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) awarded more than $11.5 million from the CARES Act to the 14 Telehealth Resource Centers (TRCs) to provide support as they combat COVID-19. Since the onset of the pandemic, the TRCs have seen a massive increase in the volume of health systems and providers needing technical assistance and resources for telehealth implementation, with the NETRC team responding to an increase of more than 830%.
With these new funds, the NETRC will be able to increase its capacity to provide hands-on technical support across the eight state region, in areas such as technology assessment and selection, payment policy and reimbursement, legal and regulatory considerations, telehealth workflow design and implementation, training and education for healthcare providers and students, and strategic planning for future integration of telehealth services.
The Northeast TRC compiled a list of toolkits, policy updates, and training and education material about the COVID-19 pandemic. Click on the link to view the full list of resources.
